1. Start acne treatment as soon as acne marks appear.

This is the most simple and effective way to prevent acne scarring. Don’t wait for the period when acne marks are large and painful. You should see a dermatologist immediately and avoid those problems at all.

2. Try to prevent inflammation of acne.

Inflamed pieces of the skin tend to cause acne scars more than non-inflamed lesions. Don’t irritate your skin excessively (e.g. by agressive washing)

3. Avoid picking, popping or squizzing at acne.

All these “treatments” can only spread infection, damage your skin, cause inflammation and can cause irremoveable acne scars.

4. Check whether you inclined to acne scarring or not.

Some people are more inclined to appearing of acne scars than others. Know this when you will be visiting your doctor next.

5. Obligatorily see a doctor if your pimples are large.

The most severe forms of acne (e.g. nodules and cysts) tend to produce acne scars. These forms of acne can’t be healed at home so you should visit a professional dermatologist who will help you in solving these unpleasent problems.

The big blemishes appear on the face or other parts of body (shoulders, chest, back, etc.) and can be very painful sometimes.

It charcterized by strong redness, inflammation and in some cases can cause scars.

Some people think that all the forms of strongly developed pimples are symptoms of “cystic acne” but cysts are the most severe type of cystic acne exhibition. Systs are hard round growths under the skin, which contain liquid.

Aside from the cysts the skin can be affected by:

Papules

Pustules

Nodules

Papules are inflamed acne lesions, look like small red lumps and don’t contain pus.

Pusules differ from the papules: they have white top which consist of pus and often follow the papules. The majority of the people, when they are talking about “pimples”, mean pustules.

Nodules are the last form: they are hard and painful lumps under the skin. Those are larger than papules and form deep within the skin.

This type of acne severity can be treated only by a specialist. Dermatologist must be visited because it usually become hard to control cystic acne treatment.

Nobody knows the exact reasons that cause acne but there are some factors which CAN be resposible for appearence of all the types of acne: pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. An origin can be different but the order of actions is invariable:

Overaction of sebaceous (oil) glands.

Derm pores blocking.

Overactive reproduction of Propionibacterium acnes (skin bacteria).

Inflammation of the skin.

There are some oil (sebaceous) glands in the deepth of the skin. All the glands are connected to hair follicle and a hair. Usually these tonsils produce substance called sebum to amp the surface of the skin but in some circumstances (e.g. during puberty) the sebum glands can become overactive influenced usual gormons. Tonsils enlarge, overproduce sebum and eventually block the skin pores. Acne appear when some pores are blocked and this situation cause overactivity of Propionibacterium acnes which begin to multiply and cause getting inflamed surrounding tissues.
